Fiona Clapp

NEW RINGWOOD CHAMBER OF TRADE SECRETARY

The Ringwood Chamber of Trade has a new Honorary Secretary, Fiona Clapp from Woodford Close.

Fiona has lived in Ringwood for over 5 years and works part time for the Nationwide Building Society in Fordingbridge. She is married to IBM Project Manager Keith and has two children at local schools 9 year old Martin and 6 year old Abigail.

Fiona was a career woman until husband and children took their toll. She says: "I am delighted to be working in Ringwood, it is a town I love, but I do miss my career. With this job as Chamber secretary I feel I can become really involved and help the community. I was an Office Manager at Harrow Crown Court and used to train Probation Officers in the mysteries of learning about IT and computers generally. It came as rather a shock to some of them at first, when they realised that there were no longer secretaries to do their work, and they had to write the reports themselves.

"Husband and children came along so I stayed at home. We moved to Ringwood because we wanted to live in a rural community near to the sea. We loved it here so much that we persuaded my parents to move to the area and they are now living in Christchurch."

Fiona will be attending the Chamber of Trade's monthly meetings which are the first Tuesday of every month and will be assisting in organising the wide range of Chamber services including regular networking events for Chamber members, lobbying for extra car parking, discount cards, newsletters and special events to attract new customers to the town.

The Chamber of Trade has a new vigour and vitality and membership is soaring.

Said Fiona "It is exciting to be working with an organisation which has so much enthusiasm and drive. There are so many changes happening and I love the idea of being part of something which is on the way up and has real potential."
