RINGWOOD CHAMBER BREWERY BASH

Over 70 people crammed into the Ringwood Brewery bar and boardroom for the first ever Ringwood Chamber of Trade and Commerce networking evening on the 25th of January.

It was standing room only while net-workers drank Ringwood beer and wine, swapped business cards and ate a finger buffet supplied by the Sanctuary restaurant. The speaker for the evening was sales expert Mike Adcock of Falcon Sales Coaching in Poole.

The Chamber's idea was to meet, mix and mingle to forge new business links with people in the town and with local associations like the Ringwood Tourism Group. The majority of the invited guests were members of the Ringwood Chamber of Trade and Commerce, but several other companies were invited in the hope that they would also find the business links useful and, in turn would join the Chamber.

Chamber President Nicki Wood of Ringwood Surplus Stores, welcomed everyone and thanked the host Nigel Welsh of Ringwood Brewery. She said "The newly formed Chamber committee which now has added youth and vitality are not expecting to produce miracles but are offering local businesses good opportunities to network, get to know each other and mutually benefit their businesses."

She said that the new Chamber had a strong voice in Council as she and Vice President Belinda Charlton were both Town Councillors, and that the Chamber's current priority was the problem of the lack of car parking in the town. She added: "We are looking to help solve the long and short stay car parking problems by bringing in decked parking to Ringwood. Discussions are ongoing"

The Ringwood beer flowed as did the wine and the evening was considered by all, as the start of something significant for trade and industry in the area. The first of many similar networking evenings for the Ringwood Chamber of Trade and Commerce.
